We are seeking applicants for a Senior Level Geotechnical Engineer (Mining Rock Mechanics) in our North Bay office. The successful applicant will have a Bachelor's degree in geological or mining engineering, P.Eng. registration in Ontario (or eligibility for registration), and 10+ years of relevant engineering experience is required.
Relevant work experience includes some of the following:
Practical work experience specifically related to mining or civil rock mechanics projects is a requirement. This may include experience with open pit or underground mines, tunneling projects and/or slope stability assessments. Fluency in English, experience working in multi-disciplinary teams, and the ability to work effectively with clients are necessary prerequisites.
A graduate degree specializing in rock mechanics, experience in the consulting industry, extensive experience with numerical modelling and the ability to communicate in Spanish or French would be considered assets.
The successful applicant will be involved in a range of projects, including technical input to design studies and engineering support to operating mines. Duties will cover all aspects of the projects, including the design and supervision of geomechanical site investigation programs, definition of geomechanical domains, stability analyses, and technical report preparation. Duties will also include project management and coordinating the activities of other members of the team. The successful applicant will travel both domestically and internationally to meet the needs of our clients.
