Adolfo López is the Geotechnical Engineer Leader at Knight Piésold Chile and is based in the Santiago office. He has 15 years of experience in civil engineering design and project management for mining and other industrial projects. He holds a civil engineering degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a Master of Engineering degree in mining engineering from the University of British Columbia.
His technical expertise is in geotechnical and environmental engineering. His roles have included senior consultant, design engineer, task coordinator, project team coordinator, technical lead, and resident engineer. A major part of his experience is related to tailings management and associated water management; other relevant experience includes geotechnical exploration and monitoring, environmental soil remediation, and hydropower development.
Adolfo has successfully delivered complex and challenging design projects, leveraging multinational resources and facilitating effective communication among the owner, engineering team, contractors, and regulating agencies, being involved from site investigations through permitting and construction. He has demonstrated competence in managing challenging projects and engaging teams in cross-country scenarios.
