Bryan Ulrich is a Senior Vice President at Knight Piésold USA and is based in the Denver office. He is a geotechnical engineer with over 30 years of experience in engineering, project management, design and construction, analysis, and site investigations for mining-related projects. He is a registered professional mining engineer (South Africa) and professional civil engineer (Colorado, Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana). Bryan has participated in all aspects associated with the design of tailings and heap leach facilities and performed a variety of other geotechnical design efforts, including direct involvement in well over 50 geotechnical site investigations.
Bryan is considered to be an expert in several fields, including assessments to estimate potential seismic activity, use and interpretation of in-situ tests, propensity for static and earthquake-induced liquefaction, material property derivation, laboratory analyses, and slope stability analysis, including the estimation of earthquake-induced slope deformation. He has considerable experience with paste tailings, having been involved both in the academic study of the behavior of paste and in many practical design matters. He also serves on the Industrial Advisory Board for the Minerals Engineering department at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology.
