July 4, 2013, Johannesburg, South Africa – Knight Piésold is proud to announce that the internationally renowned hydropower expert, Frans Louwinger, has joined the firm as a Specialist Consultant. Frans brings his thirty years of experience in hydropower studies, design and development across the globe. He will provide both expert input and mentorship to the firms’ ever growing power and water division. Frans is a valuable addition to our international hydropower team that is currently leading the detailed design and construction supervision of numerous hydropower stations around the world. Frans Louwinger’s initial focus will be providing specialist input into Knight Piésold’s numerous African Hydropower assignments, which include the 247 MW Kalungwishi and 40 MW Kabompo hydropower schemes in Zambia, plus ongoing support to Knight Piésold’s team working on the 1368 MW Ingula pumped storage scheme in South Africa that is expected to come on line 2014.
