Andries Strauss

Andries Strauss is a Director at Knight Piésold South Africa and the Mine Reside Section Manager. With 26 years of working experience, his main area of technical expertise lies in DSO inspections, Engineer of Record (EOR) duties, and geotechnical and civil engineering for mine waste management, including tailings storage facilities, heap leach pads, and waste rock facilities.

He carries the EOR responsibilities for some of the largest tailings facilities in South Africa. His project capabilities range from inception, through to the feasibility and implementation phases right to closure. He has a strong background and interest in design and modelling software and technology. His focus is on project management, surveillance/audits, DSO inspections, EOR duties, GISTM compliance, and business development to sustain and grow the section in Sub-Saharan Africa.
