Zach Fox is a Senior Engineer based in Knight Piésold’s Denver office. He has eight years of consulting experience, most extensively in the analysis and design of open pit slopes using probabilistic rock mass parameters, including slope stability evaluation of over 20 open pits on four continents. Soil mechanics experience includes analysis and design of tailings management facilities (upstream, downstream, modified centerline, centerline), earth retaining structures, forensic geotechnical studies, and foundation design.
He has research-level experience in the geotechnical characterization of rockfill, particularly mine waste rock used in the construction of tailings management facilities. He previously worked in a research setting developing custom testing methods for analyzing non-typical foundation design situations, principally in the underpinning of distressed structures.
