About the Job:

The Civil Design Engineering Leader will manage the civil design team. This role will oversee and coordinate the preparation of civil engineering design documents including AutoCAD & Civil 3D drawing packages, material quantity estimates, design reports and technical specifications, among others.

Responsibilities:

• Direct, lead and coordinate the work for the civil design discipline providing guidance, mentorship and performance feedback to ensure quality deliverables.
• Review the integration of technical activities and products related to design and engineering work in the office and on site.
• Prepare detailed proposals and schedules, planning and participating in site investigations, completing geotechnical and/or civil engineering analysis and design, preparing technical specifications and bid packages, overseeing construction projects.
• Maintain project documentation, including drawings, technical specifications and reports.
• Coordinate technical work within the local team, several disciplines and groups.
• Perform quality checks on designs.
• Represent the project team and present all elements of the technical design to clients.
• Communicate with other office leaders throughout the KP global group and help convey and facilitate the design requirements.

Requirements:

• B.S. and/or M.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• More than 10 years of work experience. Experience in the mining industry is preferred.
• Strong background in team leadership and people management.
• Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other similar technical software.
• Proven experience and ability for project/client management.
• Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated capability to work cooperatively within multidisciplinary teams.
