Role Overview:

We are seeking a Bilingual (English and French) Civil Engineering Technician to join our North Bay, Ontario office. 

The successful candidate will join our dedicated team, working on a variety of projects in the mining and power & water industries. The candidate will have a diploma in civil engineering technology (or equivalent), 2 to 3 years of relevant experience and a passion for the outdoors. Above all, we are looking for someone responsible and a good team player. This position requires frequent travel and will involve  site work assignments with rotations 2 to 3 weeks in duration. You will work under the direction of a senior engineer or scientist.  Project related expenses including travel, accommodations and meals will be covered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in field assignments such as construction quality assurance monitoring, site investigations, instrumentation monitoring, and water quality sampling
  • Assist in developing engineering specifications and drawings
  • Conducting laboratory testing
  • Management of field equipment
  • Supporting office work  

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French.
  • Practical field skills and the ability to work with limited supervision in remote locations in variable outdoor conditions.
  • Solid computer skills
  • Must be able to work quickly and accurately
  • Have strong attention to detail as well as great organizational skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Relevant experience in field data collection in the areas of construction monitoring, site investigations or environmental monitoring will be considered an asset.

Pay and Benefits:

The estimated base pay range for this position is $55,000 to $70,000 CAD. Variations in salary offered will be dependent on relevant knowledge, experience, and skill level. Knight Piésold’s total compensation and benefits also include the following:
