Knight Piésold Canada began operations in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1975, later expanding with an office in North Bay, Ontario, in 1994, and a hub office in Toronto in 2026 as an extension of our North Bay office. Today, our team of over 250 professionals supports full-cycle project development in the mining, power, water resources, and civil infrastructure industries.

In the mining industry, we have worked on hundreds of surface and underground mining projects across Canada and around the world, delivering specialized expertise in geotechnical engineering, waste and water management, hydrology, hydrogeology, rock mechanics, environmental baseline studies, and environmental and social impact assessments. In the power industry, we have led hydropower development in British Columbia for over 35 years and are sought-after for renewable energy expertise for local and international projects, from project identification, environmental studies, and permitting through to detailed engineering, construction, and operational monitoring.

This technical excellence has earned us industry-wide recognition, most recently an Award of Excellence in the Energy & Industry category at the 2026 ACEC-BC Awards for Engineering Excellence for our work on the 1,230 MW Site C Clean Energy Project. Other award-winning projects include the Klamath River Renewal Project, Salton Sea Species Conservation Habitat Project, 11 MW Azambi Hydroelectric Project, 16 MW Box Canyon Hydroelectric Project, Capilano Break Head Tank and Energy Recovery Facility, 45 MW Kokish River Hydroelectric Project, 235 MW East Toba and Montrose Hydroelectric Project, 60 MW Upper Stave Hydroelectric Project, Mount Milligan Waste and Water Management Plan, and 25 MW McNair Creek Hydroelectric Project.
