August 23, 2011, Johannesburg, South Africa – Knight Piésold Consulting further celebrates its milestone anniversary with the achievement of a Level 2 BBBEE (Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment) rating in South Africa. Established in 1921, the company has undergone numerous changes throughout its existence and has adapted its business structure in order to remain competitive in a dynamic environment. The company’s BBBEE scorecard is one aspect that reflects this.
Moving from a Level 5 status in 2008 to a Level 2 status in 2011, shows that Knight Piésold is committed to growth and a sustainable future. “Knight Piésold’s BBBEE policies are not manufactured or artificially transplanted; they are organic, long-term and permanent,” says Vishal Haripersad, Operations Director for Knight Piésold (Pty) Ltd. “Our black shareholders are employees who have developed within our organisation and have earned their status through merit, while other internal processes ensure that historically disadvantaged employees are given the opportunities they deserve.”
“We believe strongly in developing and partnering with emerging businesses, and invest a large amount of time and resources in this endeavour. We are also committed to making a positive change in the lives of previously disadvantaged individuals, and run a focussed and highly successful upliftment program called “Bokamoso” aimed at secondary schools in need of assistance. We view this not only as a socio-economic initiative, but more importantly as a means to identify talent who could form part of our organisation into the future.”
For Knight Piésold, the future is bright and alive with possibilities.
