January 4, 2019, Johannesburg, South Africa – Knight Piésold announces the appointment of Vishal Haripersad as the Regional Manager of Knight Piésold Africa, effective January 1, 2019. Haripersad takes over from Leon Furstenburg, who continues to provide oversight of the African operations and remains a member of Knight Piésold’s global board of directors. The Knight Piésold Africa group includes operations in South Africa, Swaziland, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Madagascar, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Haripersad has held various leadership positions in the company for 14 years, most recently as the managing director of Knight Piésold South Africa for the past three years. He served as the regional manager for transport in the KwaZulu-Natal provincial branch for four years prior to being the operations director for seven years. Vishal has successfully completed large and complex infrastructure and transportation engineering projects for both private and public sector clients throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. He has been instrumental in our expansions within South Africa and also into Zambia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Madagascar, and various other African countries.

Furstenburg is capping off a successful three-decade career at Knight Piésold on a high note. In recent years, he has been spearheading transformative efforts with the management team to make Knight Piésold Africa the engineering company of choice in the continent. He continues to build on this momentum, providing mentorship and guidance to the team, and to support clients in the power and water resources industry.
