March 12, 2018, Vancouver, BC, Canada – Knight Piésold had a strong presence at the 2018 Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) International Convention, Trade Show & Investors Exchange in Toronto. The Knight Piésold team gathered on March 4-7 to connect with clients and explore the latest trends, technologies, and challenges in today’s mining industry.
The team included 21 senior specialists from the Denver, Johannesburg, Lima, Mendoza, North Bay, Santiago, and Vancouver offices—the largest delegation to date. The team spent time circulating at the convention, attending presentations from industry experts, exchanging insights with industry peers, and connecting with clients.
PDAC 2018 marked the 86th year of the world’s premier mineral exploration and mining investment convention, which brought together approximately 400 presenters, 1,000 exhibitors, 3,800 investors, and 25,600 attendees from 125 countries. “This year’s convention was full of energy and excitement for the year ahead,” sa[id] PDAC President Glenn Mullan, referring to sold out exhibitor space, panel discussions, courses, workshops, and networking events.
“In Canada, and around the world, PDAC is recognized as a leader in promoting a responsible, sustainable mineral exploration and mining community,” add[ed] Mullan. “At PDAC, we take pride in being a growth catalyst for the sector by building strong working relationships, both domestically and abroad. The PDAC Convention is the venue for forging long-lasting connections, and developing strategies to enhance the positive contributions of our sector around the world.”
The upbeat tone at the convention was a reflection of increased funding, as global exploration spending hiked for the first time in four years, backed by a rebound in metals prices and a strong global economy.
Knight Piésold is proud to be part of the mineral exploration and mining industry and we look forward to connecting with our clients and learning about the latest advancements in the industry at next year’s convention.
