May 30, 2024, Lima, Peru – Knight Piésold Peru was delighted to have taken part in the alignment workshop that was organized by Marcobre S.A.C. (Marcobre) for the Mina Justa Underground Project. The workshop, which was held on May 10, 2024, at the BTH Hotel in San Borja, Lima, was an invaluable opportunity to reinforce the comprehensive objectives of the project and ensure the collective success of all stakeholders.
The Mina Justa Underground Project, an expansion of the Mina Justa mine representing an estimate investment of US$400 million, will increase copper reserves by 30% and the life of mine by 10 years. It will also increase the capacity of the tailings storage facility (TSF) by 45 Mt. Knight Piésold Peru is the designer of the 100 Mt TSF and has been its Engineer of Record since 2017.
Participation in the workshop is fundamental to strengthening collaboration and a sense of ownership among project team members. The workshop was facilitated by Gustavo Guerrero, Project General Manager of Marcobre, and attended by 20 project team members, including Rubén Vargas, Solange Paihua, and Roger Urteaga of Knight Piésold Peru.
