June 18, 2020, Johannesburg, South Africa – In these unprecedented times, Knight Piésold continues to engage with industries and communities that it is a part of. Knight Piésold Southern Africa is keen on keeping the dialogue open between professionals and learners. It is turning its annual all-day job shadow initiative, in which secondary school learners visit various offices and project sites, into a virtual event to ensure the safety and well-being of participating learners.
To mark Youth Month 2020 in South Africa, the company is inviting grades 10 and 11 learners across the country to its virtual job shadow experience. To qualify for this free experience, learners must be studying mathematics and physical science and must be looking to pursue a career in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or environmental sciences.
This two-day experience will give learners insight into the world of consulting engineering and allow them to participate in the Job Shadow Initiative of Consulting Engineers South Africa. Learners will be able to interact with the company’s multidisciplinary specialists, understand sectors that the company is involved in, and even get to virtually visit project sites.
Knight Piésold’s Virtual Job Shadow Day will take place via Microsoft Teams on July 18 and 25. Learners must be able to access the app via their smartphones, tablets, or personal computers.
