July 11, 2016, London, UK – Knight Piésold is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Elmer as the new Regional Manager of Knight Piésold UK. Richard, previously the Head of Mining, will be leading the UK practice, focusing on driving Knight Piésold’s footprint in the mining industry and exploring opportunities in the energy industry in Europe, Central Asia, and North Africa.

Knight Piésold UK, based in London, has been in operation for three years since its re-establishment in 2013, after an absence of 10 years in the country. The practice, whose core strengths are in mine waste management and rock mechanics, has undertaken over 50 assignments in 20 countries.

Richard brings over 25 years of diverse experience to the role, having worked on multidisciplinary projects in Eastern and Western Europe; Northern, Sub-Saharan, and Southern Africa; Central Asia; and Asia Pacific. He is a geotechnical specialist with a bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of Southampton and a master’s degree in Mining Geology from the Camborne School of Mines.
