Pr EngAmal Doorgapershad is the Regional Manager for KwaZulu-Natal and is based in Knight Piésold’s Durban office. He has over 25 years of experience in the planning and design of bulk water supply infrastructure, including the detailed design and implementation of several large diameter steel pipelines. Amal has undertaken several feasibility studies and detailed designs for large bulk water supply schemes in the respective roles of study lead and design lead.
His international experience includes the domestic and industrial water supply to a proposed bauxite mine and alumina refinery in Queensland, Australia, as well as the design of pumped and gravity water supply systems, including hydraulic modelling, material selection, engineering and safety risk assessments, and engineering cost estimates. Amal is presently serving as project director on bulk water schemes in Botswana, Swaziland, and Mozambique.
