Carlos Faundez is the Civil Engineer Leader at Knight Piésold Chile and is based in the Santiago office. He is a civil engineer with 15 years of experience in the development of mining, hydropower, and infrastructure projects. His specific experience includes civil and geotechnical design responsibilities in multidisciplinary projects within EPC and EPCM contracts with companies including Fluor, Amec Foster Wheeler (now Wood), and MWH.
Carlos has been responsible for project scheduling, general discipline coordination, technical and management coordination of contracts, geotechnical and geophysical site investigations, geotechnical reinforcement and stabilization, leach pad design, soil mechanics studies, and site-wide civil design. Carlos’ key roles include civil discipline lead for the engineering design of the Quellaveco Mining Project (Fluor 2010-2012), site manager for the construction oversight team for the raise of the Collahuasi TSF (Amec Foster Wheeler 2014-2015), and resident geotechnical engineer during the construction of the Chacayes Hydroelectric Project (MWH 2008-2009).
