Kevin O’Connell is the Groundwater Services Manager at Knight Piésold Australia and is based in the Perth office. He is a hydrogeologist and geologist with over 18 years of experience in hydrogeological characterisation, groundwater assessments, mine dewatering studies from feasibility through to implementation and operations, design and management of site investigations, aquifer conceptualisation, and hydrogeochemical analysis. His technical and management roles on projects have been related primarily to the mining sectors in Australia, Africa, and Southeast Asia.
As the Groundwater Services Manager, he is involved in mine water management, hydrogeological assessments, and project design and management. Recent assignments include dewatering studies for the greenfields T3 Copper Project in Botswana and the Wa Gold Project in Ghana, hydrogeochemical appraisal and monitoring for the Sukari Gold Mine in Egypt, groundwater management assessment for the Sanbrado Gold Project in Burkina Faso, and large-scale operations and process water supply for the mineral sands Toliara Project in Madagascar.
