March 1, 2018, Perth, WA, Australia – Knight Piésold Australia joined nearly 1,000 delegates—the largest number to date—at the RIU Explorers Conference to gain insights on the mining and exploration sector. The conference took place at the Esplanade Hotel in the historic port town of Fremantle, WA on February 20-22.
The eagerly awaited conference marked the start of the Australian resources conference calendar. It is one of the major Australian forums for the junior resources sector, with mineral exploration companies and emerging new miners presenting to an ever-growing group of brokers, fund managers, and potential investors. The conference has been running since 2002 and has continued through various stages in the global markets, growing from 250 delegates in its first year to up to 800 delegates regularly.
Dean Sawyer, Waste Management Services Manager, and Steve McKean, Senior Civil Engineer, explored opportunities at the conference, spending time attending presentations from companies and industry figures, walking the floor to view exhibits and chat with company representatives, and networking with old and new contacts.
Knight Piésold gained insight on current market conditions and the economic outlook for global commodities, developed new relationships with some exciting up-and-coming companies that will be looking at commencing studies and project development in the near future, and expanded our portfolio into some new areas (both geographically and into some new mineral resources).
We look forward attending next year’s conference, hoping to see future updates that focus on exciting projects in new countries.
