Kevin Hawton

Kevin Hawton is a Specialist Engineer based in Knight Piésold’s North Bay office. He has over 25 years of experience in providing geotechnical engineering support to mining projects, specifically related to the planning, design, construction, and operation of tailings and water management facilities, waste rock dumps, and other site infrastructure. Kevin has also provided geotechnical design and construction support to select hydropower projects.

Kevin’s areas of expertise include site investigations, geotechnical engineering (soils and permafrost), tailings and water management, embankment design, slope stability, hydrotechnical, construction QA/QC, and ongoing operational support. Kevin has worked on projects located in Canada (Ontario, Manitoba, British Columbia, Quebec, Nunavut, Northwest Territories, Newfoundland), USA (Alaska and Michigan), Russia (Siberia), the Philippines, Cuba, Chile and Africa, as well as input and reviews for projects located in many other countries around the world. Kevin is a licenced professional engineer in Ontario, Nunavut, and Northwest Territories.
