May 13, 2024, Perth, WA, Australia – A recent statement by Greenstone Resources Corporation incorrectly stated that Knight Piésold was the Designer of TSF3 at the Siana Gold Mine. Knight Piésold advises that this is wrong. Knight Piésold’s first involvement at Siana Gold Mine was in 2013 after TSF3 and TSF4 had already been constructed and were in operation. In 2013, the Owner contacted Knight Piésold to urgently assist with an assessment of emergency safety measures for TSF4, which was designed by another company. At that time, Knight Piésold advised the mine to construct a buttress at TSF4. Knight Piésold also advised the Owner to buttress and remediate TSF3. Subsequently, Knight Piésold also provided the design for a new interim facility named TSF5.

Knight Piésold has not been involved in the mine since 2021 when it was already on care and maintenance and was sold to another party. At that time, the Knight Piésold recommendations for TSF3 embankment buttressing had not been implemented.
