May 4, 2021, Elko, NV, USA – Knight Piésold USA has appointed Brittany Hutchings as the Elko Office Manager in early 2021 after Samuel (Sam) Bush transitioned to a construction management and quality assurance role. Hutchings, in addition to managing the Elko office, will continue to expand the company’s engineering capabilities, including construction quality assurance/quality control (CQA/QC) and geotechnical laboratory testing services, to support clients in Nevada and across the USA.
Hutchings joined the Elko office in 2007 as a Civil Engineer after graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Last year, she progressed to the position of Project Civil Engineer, and over the course of her career, she has built technical expertise in the civil design of heap leach pads, tailings storage facilities including drainage controls, lined ponds, and channels.
“We are very pleased to have Brittany step into this leadership role,” said Paul Ridlen, President of Knight Piésold USA. “She has grown in leaps and bounds over the past 14 years since she started as a junior engineer and has shown remarkable leadership aptitude. She has been actively managing several key projects for the past several years and has extensive experience in design, CQA/QC, geotechnical investigations, and construction materials testing and inspection.”
“This is an exciting time for the Elko office as we join in Knight Piésold’s 100th anniversary celebration,” said Hutchings. “The Elko office was opened in 1989, four years after Knight Piésold USA was established in Denver. We have a deep history in the mining industry in Nevada and look forward to strengthening our capabilities to support our teammates in other Knight Piésold offices to deliver the best service for clients in the mining, power, and water resources industries.”
