Knight Piésold Brazil Boosts Technical Expertise with Addition of Octavio Vilas
March 27, 2017, Paracatu, Brazil – Knight Piésold Brazil is pleased to welcome Octavio Vilas Boas Machado Filho as its new senior executive project manager. He brings 35 years of experience and technical expertise to the growing team in Brazil.
Octavio is experienced in various types of dams, foundations, retaining structures, waste and tailings piles, radioactive waste disposal systems, and mine waste disposal systems. He is a recognized tailings management expert in the mining industry in Brazil and is actively engaged in many mines in the country. He also has extensive expertise in hydroelectric power plants, nuclear power plants, hydraulic structures, water supply systems, industrial facilities, and municipal solid waste landfills.
Octavio has been a consultant for over 20 years. He has a master’s degree in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro.
