February 27, 2019, Johannesburg, South Africa – Knight Piésold Southern Africa has launched a creative essay writing competition for no-fee and partly funded high schools across Gauteng, South Africa. This competition, a Bokamoso Programme initiative that is committed to improving the lives of future generations, aims to give students an opportunity to let their talent shine through creative writing.

Regional Manager Vishal Haripersad believes that we need to help the youth understand that success is within their reach and this can be achieved through hard work, dedication, and support from the community.

“There is no shortcut to success,” Haripersad passionately stated. “We are working together with stakeholders that include the public, businesses, and the government to create a culture of respect, performance, and hard work. We have asked ourselves what we as a community should be doing to create the future we want to see and have implemented various initiatives to achieve this goal.”

To be part of this amazing competition, submit an essay in 1,000 words or less on the topic: “Looking Back, Moving Forward, My Dream, My South Africa!”

An analysis is required on why it is vital to remember the history of South Africa and to pass on lessons learned to new generations. Include ways in which students can build a culture of humanity and respect and can strengthen unity in South Africa. At Knight Piésold, we want to see the vision of today’s youth for South Africa’s future.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three entries: R5000 for the best essay, R2000 for the second place, and R1000 for the third place. The school of the winning student will receive up to R100000 worth of equipment and study materials for science and math.
