March 5, 2011, Vancouver, BC, Canada – The Canadian office of Knight Piésold received outstanding recognition at the 21st Annual Consulting Engineers of BC (CEBC) Awards for Engineering Excellence Gala, held on March 5, 2011 at the new Vancouver Convention Centre. Taking in top honors for winning four awards, Knight Piésold proudly shares its remarkable achievements with clients and the entire company.
CEBC annually grants awards to member firms in recognition for their innovation and technical excellence. The 2011 Awards for Engineering Excellence featured the best in BC engineering by highlighting on projects completed in the previous year that are a tribute to our profession and contribute to improvements in everyday living.
To put more aptly, Glenn Martin, Executive Director of CEBC announced that “It was Knight Piésold’s night!” The East Toba and Montrose Hydroelectric Project won top honors with the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Engineering Excellence due to “close coordination, innovative design concepts, environmental stewardship, and community involvement.” The East Toba and Montrose Hydroelectric Project was also awarded an Award of Excellence in the Natural Resources, Energy and Industry category. In addition, Knight Piésold received Awards of Merit for the Upper Stave Hydroelectric Projects in the Natural Resources, Energy and Industry category and the Mount Milligan Mine Waste Management Plan in the Soft Engineering category.
Currently at the Delta Municipal Hall, all submissions entered for this year will travel to 12 venues around the province to promote the valuable work that consulting engineers do for clients and the public in contributing to the world we live in and improving our daily lives. The East Toba and Montrose Hydroelectric Project will also be submitted to the 2011 Canadian Consulting Engineering Awards, a national awards competition, which will be held in Ottawa in November.
